SCOPE OF WORK
This project involved major structural rehabilitation of the Eads Bridge, one of St. Louis’ oldest operating transportation structures. The crew replaced steel supporting the MetroLink system and the bridge floor system while rail service remained active.
The scope included removing existing rivets and bolts, fabricating custom tools and sockets, and installing replacement structural members within the bridge’s existing configuration.
As conditions became clear, the team adjusted installation methods and developed tools to reach and work around the existing structure. Each stage required coordination around active MetroLink service, adding another constraint to the removal and replacement work.
