SCOPE OF WORK
This project involved installing more than 5,000 tons of reinforcing steel throughout the Lower Meramec Water Treatment Plant. The scope covered major treatment structures, million-gallon tanks, underground systems, and a tunnel feeding the plant’s piping systems.
The crew worked across tanks, tunnels, vertical shafts, and confined areas while construction progressed elsewhere on the site. Each area brought different access and material-handling requirements, so deliveries and crane operations had to follow the installation sequence.
Keeping the work moving meant getting steel where it was needed, maintaining crew access, and coordinating each installation with the trades that followed. The team had to manage both the volume of reinforcing steel and the space needed for others to complete their work.
